-For planning purposes: Parents, players and coaches can count on this schedule to remain intact without change.-
Academics and Football: Barsby Football is a school sport. All players are expected to make a maximum personal effort towards their studies. It is understood that people have their respective strengths and weaknesses academically. It is also understood that we all have the equal opportunity to a) attend all of our classes and b) put forth our best effort in terms of conduct and production. With a 24 hour day in place, all players are required/expected to manage their time to include homework and football. Last second excuses that claim homework in lieu of football practice are the product of poor personal time management and will not be viewed kindly by the H. Coach. All players have the time and opportunity to schedule 2 hours of their day for ball and 2 hrs per-day for homework. We have produced several Academic All-Canadians at the University Level and several others in challenging engineering/academic programs at the University Level. It can be done! Players are reminded that irregarless of athleticism, they need a minimum 76% average, a language and 4 provincially examinable courses to attend the majority of Canadian Universities. Now is the time to plan to build this foundation.JV Football Study Hall: We run a JV Football study hall year-round every Thursday after school in Mr. Austin’s classroom. This is a unique opportunity for each player and a huge support to his academics during the season.
**Of Note: 45% of our program roster grades 9-12 in 2009 achieved honor roll status!!**
A complete program orientation will be presented on registration night.Questions: Contact Coach Stevenson at school 753-8211 ext. 350 or e-mail Boomsha@yahoo.com
