The Ray Kocher Classic is named in honor of Mr. Ray Kocher who was the principal at John Barsby and Nanaimo District HS when both schools started their HS Football Programs.  Barsby Football was born in 1996 and Nanaimo District Football was born in 2001.  Their is a lot of pride and fierce competition on the field when these two neighborhood rivals get after it on the field!
