Congratulations to our Varsity Dawgs on their punishing 42-0 victory over arch-rival Ballenas in the 10th annual Border Battle! Well done fellas! Preparation and aiming for our bullseyes each week has paid off big-time!

Games This Week

JV Host Timberline HS at 3 PM in "The Cage". This game has major playoff implications for our JV team. Parents are encouraged to come on out and support the boys. We need help with a stick crew so be sure to come early and indicate you will be giving us a hand.

Varsity Dawgs at Windsor Friday, October, 30th. Big, big game against a very good Windsor Team this Friday. We can earn a high playoff seed with a convincing victory!!

2009 Border Battle

This week has our Varsity Football Team hosting the Ballenas Whalers in the tenth annual Border Battle Football Game! Kick-Off is Saturday @ 0931 AM in "The Cage". This game is for all the post-season marbles with the winner virutually assured of a playoff berth and the loser needing to finish victorious and get help.

The early start is due to the BCFC game being played later in the afternoon with referees being at a premium.

Both teams will be closely matched physically and we are expecting quite the game.

Of note: Players from our JV squad and Varsity squad can gain admittance free to the VI Raiders game in the afternoon at Caledonia Park if they wear their team jersey.

Week 6 JB Football

Congrats to our JV and Varsity squads on their rivalry game victories this past week. Our JV's defeated arch-rival Ballenas and our Varsity played a solid game en-route to overcoming a game NDSS squad over on their turf.

This week has our JV's hosting the Belmont Blue Bulldogs at 3 PM in "The Cage" and our varsity travelling to play the udefeated and number 1 ranked Mt. Douglas Rams at 7 PM at Royal Athletic Park. The game is noted as the provincial game of the week and will be broadcast live off of the http://www.bchighschoolfootball.com site!

We are looking forward to the challenge and it should be noted that we will be wearing our home dark uniforms in this contest as Mt. Douglas is dressing their JV and Varsity squads in white (their respective home uniforms being different colors)for the game.

Ray Kocher Classic Sat. 10 October

Week Five has our Varsity Dawgs playing at the NDSS Islander Varsity at 10 AM in the 9th Annual Ray Kocher Classic football game. Barsby has dominated the series on the scoreboard but has had several close calls for sure and one loss over the past 8 years. It is important to note that the records of both teams headed into this contest really mean nothing as it is a big time rivalry game and everyone is going to be "playing out of their skin" for local bragging rights. A big turnout of parents and alumni is also expected for this contest!

The 10th Annual Border Battle begins this week with a JV tilt versus Arch-Rival Ballenas. The Whalers will host and kick-off takes place at 3:16 PM on the Ballenas HS Field.

Varsity Dawgs vs Frank Hurt

Varsity Host This Friday!

The Frank Hurt Hornets roll in to "The Cage" for a league tilt this Friday, 2 October at 1:45 PM. We are expecting a fired-up and hard hitting Frank Hurt Squad as this game has big playoff implications for both teams!! Our Varsity are looking to cap off a great week of practice with a peak performance on Friday afternoon!!

We thrive on crowd support so be sure to come on out and fill those bleachers come Friday, PM!!

The weekend will be capped off with a great fundraising event Saturday evening 6-9 PM with a burger night/silent auction being held at the Harewood Arms. Support for this event is so very much appreciated!

Other News

JV's Roll in second half!

Our Jr. Varsity came on fire in the second half of Wednesday's game vs Edward Milne HS scoring 39 points in just over 15 minutes of play in the 3rd/4th quarter of the game. The score wound up being 51-12 for our JV's.
